Skyler Carrell

  I was born and raised in the woods of Read Mountain in Roanoke, Va. This then gave me the opportunity to roam those very woods and igniting a wild interest in natural world around me. However, from an early age I had natural curiosity in observing the people outside of those woods as well. Therefore, the natural world didn’t just interpret itself to me as the physical environment but by the numerous diverse souls the world housed as well. In other words coming to Radford I knew I had to choose a major or collegiate path that represented my two fascinations. In turn, I decided not to just do both interests and double majoring in Biology and Psychology at Radford University in Radford Va.

 

    Having a persevering curiosity and awesome opportunities at Radford University I got involved in research with Dr. Davis and the Ecophysiology Lab. In result, my curiosities and interests grew to push me to go to the Peruvian Amazon.
